Seattle Mountain Bike Tour Manager

POSITION

Seattle Mountain Bike Tours (SMBT), an Adventure Hub company,is seeking a full-time manager to oversee day-to-day operations.The Manager will be the point person to ensure that all tours are staffed and operating smoothly. They will manage the nuts and bolts of both day and multi-daytours, includingtour itineraries, logistics, and guide support. This is a detail-oriented roll that works closely with the Adventure Hub Sales Managerand operations team to ensure logisticaland customer success.The SMBT Manager willbe first in line to lead tours.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations and Logistics

  • Responsible for managing guide team hiring, scheduling, and employee needs
  • Responsible for evaluating and maintaining tour quality through guest and guide feedback
  • Responsible for maintaining third party partnerships and relations
  • Responsible for actively communicating tourneeds with The Adventure Hub operations team
  • Responsible for communicating with sales team on vehicle and guide availability
  • Responsible foroversight of maintenance and safety of mountain bikes and gear
  • Work with Sacred Rides Managerand salesteam to design Sacred Rides tours operated by SMBT
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining annual tour schedule
  • Manage budget for mountain bike tour company

Guiding

  • Responsible for lead guidingSeattle Mountain Bike Toursthroughout the season
  • Responsible for lead guiding Sacred Rides tourscontracted to SMBT

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assisting with company operations and logistics needs (packing supplies, cleaning + maintaining vehicles, maintaining clean operational space)
  • Assist with answering phones and addressing basic customer questions
  • Communicate important information with guests prior to tour
  • Coordinate withSacred Rides Manager and sales team on overall mountain bike program•Other duties as assigned

The Adventure Hub encourages an ‘all-hands on deck’ environment, and you may be required to perform other duties as assigned. As such, all team members must have a solid working knowledge of operational requirements/duties. All employees are trained in operations tasks for all Adventure Hub companies as well as your primary functions. ‘As-needed’ assignments may not bear any direct correlation to operations in your department or city. QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 3 years experience guiding bicycle tours
  • Innate understanding and ability to provide 5-star guest service to individuals from various backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures
  • Dependable, independent, creative, self-starting individual
  • Strong work ethic and ability to direct your own time
  • Basic computer skills:proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred
  • Ability to navigate and learn CRM systems, specificallyFareHarbor
  • Team-oriented and invested in collaboration across internal and external teams
  • Resident of greater Seattle area (or willingness to relocate immediately)
  • Basic ability to manageabudgetand company cash flow

PREFERRED

  • Experience in tourism/restaurant/hospitality/customer service industry
  • Experience with copyediting for tour descriptions
  • Extensive knowledge of Washington and Pacific Northwest region and attractions, specifically for mountain biking
  • Experience in relationship building and partner development

POSITION DETAILS AND COMPENSATION

This position is full time based upon approximately 40 hours per week with greater flexibility in the winter season. Hours should align with need to guide tours on weekends especially from April to October. This position works closely with Evergreen Escapes’General Manager, who is in charge of The Adventure Hub office and operations, and reports directly to the COO of The Adventure Hub.Starting salary $49,920 DOE, Full-Time Exempt.
